Tamarin and Date Chutney

Tamari and Date Chutney

 
Ingredients: 
100g Tamarind
100g Dates
1 Onion (finely diced)
A splash of Apple Cider Vinegar
2 teaspoons of Garam Masala
A small amount of grated ginger
1-2 tablespoons of olive oil
1 Cup of water

Method:
1. Add some olive oil to a pan and lightly fry the onions along with the garam masala. Chop the dates and add them to the pan too. Add a splash of apple cider vinegar and the cup of water along with the tamarind to the mixture.

2. Once the mixture is soft, run it through a sieve in order to remove any stones and seeds. By now you should have a smooth paste.

3. Add the mixture back to the pan and add in the grated ginger. Cook on a medium heat until the mixture has a chutney like consistency. Once finished serve the dish. It is great as a compliment to curry.
